sympathy

Sympathy cards are always so tough and I never seem to have any made ahead of time.  Every time I need one, I think, I really should make a few to have on hand so it won’t be so hard to do.  Still haven’t done it.  Yet again, I tell myself I should have.

I used the CPS sketch #123 for some direction on this card.  Again, I love the straight lines and boxes on this sketch.  I also like the simplicity of it and felt it would make a good sympathy card.  I’m also submitting it to the Timeless Tuesday Challenge at Flourishes since I cut the stamped butterfly out and popped it up.

This card is as simple as it gets… the most complicated part was the embossing.  I ended up embossing 4 different butterflies (I think, that was all).  I must have some sort of embossing imp messing with me, because I was having all sorts of trouble with this card and my miracle card.  My miracle card I actually burnt the paper.  BURNT the paper, I have never burnt the paper.  So frustrating.  At least I didn’t burn the butterflies, but I couldn’t quite get the image to turn out with the embossing powder. So I tried different butterflies and love the look of this combo.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Stunning and great black accents. Way to rock the CPS sketch this week.
