birthdays, birthdays and more birthdays…

Happy Tuesday!  I’m not sure why September seems to be one of my busiest birthday months, but every April and September I seem to be running behind in card making.

This is the other card I made while my husband was recovering from surgery.  It was a secret card in case the intended recipient read my blog.  It is being delivered today, so I feel safe in posting.

I am really loving clean and simple cards.  I just love the simplicity and a little surprise element, like the red rhinestones.  The cake and “Birthday Wishes” are embossed in chocolate embossing powder.  I cut the card base from the Labels One nesti from Spellbinders.  Added a little twine and this sweet card was done.

I also made a matching giftcard holder based on the Caardvarks sketch #1 challenge this week.  I kept it in the same color family and used another Hero Arts stamp set for the sentiment.  On the background I tried out my new Verve stamp using Versamark ink on the kraft cardstock.

Birthday Wishes Materials

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Stamps: Hero Arts

Ink: Versamark

Cuttlebug die cut machine: Labels One (Spellbinder)

Other: Twine, embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
