8.6.2010 – Limelight Project Parade

** Scroll down for my FWF post **

Welcome to this month’s Limelight Papercrafts Project Parade.  Every month the design team chicks get together to show you a project based on a theme.  This month’s theme is Recycled Chic.

First, let me show you what I recycled for this month’s theme.

Yuppers, a Life cereal box.  I’ve been on a Life kick recently.  Oh, I might have about 3 boxes in the pantry right now.  Yum.  Anyway, I used the back panel of the box and the white sheet is my template.

Can you guess what I made from the template???  I’ll wait….

One…

Two…

Three…

Ok, that is all the chances you get.  If you guessed an apron, you’d be correct. hehe

I wanted something I could keep in my kitchen to hold some special recipes I love.  So, I made this apron that will hang on my fridge with some matching recipe cards.

I used some of my favorite products from Limeligtht Papercrafts to make this cute apron.

black twill ribbon
Hey Birdie stamp set
Basic Grey buttons

Here is a close up of the recipe cards.

I used the little stamp images to decorate the labels.

I made the apron by hand drawing the apron template and then cut it out of the cereal box and also a piece of kraft cardstock.  I glued the cardstock to the cereal box apron with some Modge Podge and let it dry under a heavy book overnight.

I added four eyelet holes and threaded the ribbon through.  The top will allow me to hang this on a magnet hanger I have on my fridge.  Next I stamped and decorated away.  The black scalloped rectangle of cardstock is popped up with some Scotch foam adhesive.  This creates the pocket to hold the recipe cards.  The little pocket was also free handed and then I did a little sewing to finish it off.

I think this would make such a cute little housewarming gift or for your favorite baker.  Just too cute.

Hop on over to Lynn’s blog next.  She has a super awesome project to show you.
