{11.11.11} wanna sketch?

Friends with Flair

Hello my Friends with Flair Unity dearies.  Lots of fun stuff today.  Can’t wait to go through all the entries for today’s Friends with Flair.  Hope you will check them out too.
The ideas are always so fabulous.

A few things for today.  First, well, you already know.  This card was made for today’s FWF.  Second, this week’s challenge at the CREATE: blog was to incorporate wood.  Hmmmmm.  That is a super duper challenge for sure.

So, I decided to use a bloggie buddy for inspiration.  I sent her this card as a thank you for some goodies she sent me recently.  I was inspired by her style.  Who is this girl you ask???  Well, it is a secret until the card arrives at her door.  *wink*

I’m using one my fave fall sets… Give Thanks.  I thought long and hard about how to incorporate some sort of real wood into this card.  I remembered a fabulous card and story by my sweet friend.  She has a tendency to head to the backyard in search of grasses for her cards.  So, off I went searching for some sort of twig in the backyard.  We have a fairy duster bush back there and luckily it has some little buds left on it.  So sweet and perfect for the card.

The tag has been dry embossed with a wood grain as well.  For the sentiment, I cut the long quote in half and stacked it so it would fit on the little label.  Worked awesome!

And last…

I mentioned I’d post some sketches to go along with some cards time to time.
So… do you WANNA SKETCH?

If you WANNA play along, I’d love for you to link below.  I’ll leave the link up for two weeks {till midnight MST on 11.25.11}.  I even have this little Itty Bitty {Little Miss Sunshine} prize from my stash for someone.  I’ll pick a random winner from whomever links up on 11.27.11. BTW… I have no rules.  Just have fun.

Thanks for playing.
Link closes… 11.25.11 at midnight PST.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to head back to the Unity blog to visit the rest of the Friends with Flair.

I love that little twig-branch – and it’s called a fairy duster? Love that 🙂 The sentiment tag is beautiful, and I love that you included wood grain embossing as well as actual wood! Cool!
Thanks for the sketch – I’ve just printed it out & am raring to go!
