{2.27.2012} smile…

Oh Monday…

Seriously… Monday again.  It comes so fast.  I was a busy little crafting bee this weekend.  THURSDAY is going to be BIG!  I have 3 posts going up that day.  Gotta love the first of the month.  But for today, I have this sweet little card to share.

My hubby asked me if I had any little birthday cards on Friday.  Me… have birthday cards.  OF COURSE… not.  I’m out.  ACK.  I have some for guys, but lacking in the ladies department.  This sweet card is for one of his co-workers.  Hope she likes it.

I have new paper!  That really makes me giddy.  Heehee.  The CREATE: blog challenge this week is based on quilt inspired cards.  I have always wanted to do this block and zig zag combo, but never attempted it.  Not SEW easy {ha, I am so funny}.  I started out with a 4×4 block of cardstock with 12 – 1″ blocks around the border.  Ok, now how to sew this???  I just went for it and zig zagged like crazy starting around the outside edge and then straight across till all the blocks had stitching.  You should see the crazy mess of thread behind that block!  So not pretty!

Simon Says Stamp also has a challenge this week to use 3 different papers.  Check!  Did I mention I have new paper???  Oh, yes.  I believe I did.  I used different patterns from the This & That Graceful 6×6 paper pad.

I had such a fabulous weekend, it CAN’T be Monday already.
Time to get back to the GRIND.
Hope this card starts your week off with a smile.
Hugs.

The back may not be pretty but the front is gorgeous and I love the simplicity of the sentiment against the busy background. 🙂
