{4.17.2018} need a little SPARK?

Good day friends…

I have been thinking about the current
Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge
based on this photo.

The content gave me pause… because, I really think I would be a darling millionaire.  It can’t be that hard right?  Or, maybe I’m so ‘dahl’ing it would be that easy.  Hee hee.  I’ve seen some very clever takes on this challenge already.  I had something in mind from the beginning and went with my instincts.

I really liked the graphic feel and typography in the photo.  While I couldn’t mimic the type with the stamps, I did with the colors.  It is quite a simple design, but it did take a bit of practice.  And during that practice, I also tried another design.

I had a hard time choosing which I liked more, yet, the hubs had no problem.  Ha.  He liked the first one better.

Did you notice the new photo set up???  I’m learning to use my new light tent.  My house is like a dungeon to keep all the heat and light out from the Arizona sun.  While it is nice temperature wise, it really makes taking photos a challenge.  The final straw happened last week, I got up at 5am to make a last minute project and had to wait for the sun to come UP!  Geez.  So after a little research, I made my own light tent using a cardboard box and white tissue paper based on THIS design.  I am still working out the kinks, but I’m hoping this will solve a lot of my light drama.

SPARKS DT Call

Did you see this???  Super exciting, right?  I adore Kim’s whimsical and sometimes down right punny stamps.  It would be a super fun dream come true to join in on the SPARKS design team.  Part of the call is to use a current (see above) or older Sparks photo.  So, I used the one above and also this one….

I fell in LOVE with those LARGE polka dots.
I paired them with the red, white, black and green color combo in the card below.

I have a small attachment to hot concoctions.  Pure yumminess.
The dots came from the gently seasoned set and I adore their whimsy as they float across the card.  I created the sentiment from hot concoctions, sentiment sampler and alphadots.  I think it is a perfect match to the coffee cup.

What a fun Paper Smooches day.
Hope you enjoyed.

    Hi Lisa,

Yep, I surely enjoyed! Your cards are super gorgeous! Love your “simple sentiments” cards! Personally, I like the second one better, but I can not even tell you exactly why… But both are pretty! And the card for the dt call is as well! Oeh, my chances are becoming smaller and smaller, hi hi.. 😀 But it’s always great to see that sooo many people love Kim her stamps! And you really know what to do with them, Lisa!! Yay!

    A lovely day to you!

Your photos look awesome! I made a similar light tent but after looking at this tutorial I think I’m going to make some adjustments to mine…
