{8.12.2013} wanna sketch remix

I like the remix, remix.

I’ve seen a ton of my friends and family going to the New Kids on the Block concerts lately.  I was the dork in junior high who never really listened to music or read Teen Beat.  I know, such a nerd.  I was busy riding horses, reading and watching TV.  I ran home to see what was up with Bo and Hope on Days of our Lives, not Jordan Knight happenings.  Lol.  I’m catching up on what I missed back in the 80’s though, I love this new NKOTB.

Anyhoo, this song (Remix) is playing in the background as I’m writing this post.  I’d like to think I’ve remixed my sketch into something new… and I like it.

Let’s me refresh your memory on the sketch and then check out my remix.

I gussied this one up quite a bit.  Love all the patterned paper layered and mixed up.  Isn’t it pretty.  I can’t seem to put this paper away.  It is the True Love paper pad by Basic Grey.  I just adore red, pink and teal.

The stamps are from Simon Says Stamp.  My collection is slowly growing and it was fun to be able to combine 2 sets.  Woohoo.  I stamped and masked the flowers on the tag and then colored them with my favorite pink Copic combo.  I was just moving along, coloring with my marker and oops… it slipped.  Way outside the line on my top flower.  Bugger.  Thus, that great big enamel dot was added to hide the boo boo.  They were going to be included anyway, just not sure if that is quite where I would have put it.  Ha.

I tried to see if I could do a 10 minute card, just for fun.  There is a challenge out there called the 10 minute craft dash that scares the “crap” out of me.  So, I thought, no pressure, just give it a go on my own terms.  Yeah right.  NO WHERE close.  No kidding, at least 30 minutes into the card and then I had to shower and dash out the door.  I finished it when I got home.  One day I’ll do it for real, I’m getting closer, but my hopes are not very high.  I’m just too slow of a crafter.

There have already been so many fabulous entries.  I have no clue how I’m going to pick a few faves.  There is still a few days to take on this Wanna Sketch.  The linky will stay open until Friday, August 16th {11:55pm}.

I love that song! Your remix card is pretty fabulous too!

Now I have that song stuck in my head, which is okay since I love it! I was lucky enough to go see The Package Tour a few months ago. I never got to see NKOTB when I was younger so I totally let my inner teeny bopper shine that night LOL

Your card is so pretty and I love the colors/papers you used!

Your card is sooo sweet and the strategically placed enamel dot is perfect! I’m away from my crafty things on holidays right now and have been so busy prepping for being away for holidays that I have not had any ‘me’ crafty time at all. I’m so looking forward to heading home next week and getting back to my crafty space. Sadly I will miss this deadline but I am looking forward to the next with vigour!

Lisa this is so beautiful! A favorite color combo of mine too. I’m struggling with 10 minute cards too but I don’t mind when the time is spent doing what I love most 😉 Love your sketches (as you can see from the number of times I link up lol) and the inspiration you provide. Hugs!

I’m probably the only one who LOVED THEM back then who just….meh. Doesn’t care now 😉 I know a lot of my friends are still drooly (or drooly again, rather).
Don’tcha love how embellishments can come to the rescue? Many a card of mine has had placement decided that very same way.
And as for the 10 minute dash….I keep trying, even though every time it freaks me out. I am more of a 15-minute dasher.

What a beautiful card– it has so many details and flair! LOOOOOOVE the papers and your coloring for those beautiful flowers! FAB job, Lisa:)

Your comments really make my day, thank you!
