[7.12.2015] paper smooches sparks

SPARKS time

{5.29.2012} hugs

Ready or not, the BRAND new SPARKS challenge from Paper Smooches is out.  It is a fun inspiration photo this week.  LOTS of ways to to use this photo.

Fun, right?  I asked myself, what is the one thing that stands out to you in this photo?  The line of objects across the page.  So, that is what I decided to mimic.  I’ve had my Bitty Bungalows stamp set waiting to be inked up, so that little cutie was put to good use.

I woke up at 7am on a Saturday to make this card.  Yup.  My husband had a morning meeting, so I took the time to get all crafty in my PJs.  I also watched Vampire Academy as I stamped. I admit it, I like these cheesy vamp movies or tv shows.  I’m a huge Buffy and Angel fan, HUGE.  I still watch ’em on TNT.  I can’t help it.  Ha.  But I digress.

I stamped all these little houses, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them.  You could also use the prefect matching dies to cut them out.

I stamped and colored the trees and heart on the background and then remembered I wanted to use Distress Inks to color in the grass and sky.  Oops.  So, I used rubber cement as a masking fluid.  It really works quite well.  I have a video showing this technique on a different card.  It really works well.  Then, I added all my little homes and stamped a few birds… just because they are so cute.

Link up your project at the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog by Saturday, 11:59pm PST.

Check out the other girls sharing their SPARKS cards this week.

My husband wants to be a vampire… go figure, it may be something about either living forever or being beautiful, I’m not sure yet lol. Love your little row of houses too!

Soooooooooooo many things about this card amaze me— first that you woke up so early to complete it! I might have to try that (esp if my creations come out as PERFECT as yours! LOL!)! Second— I love that you were inspired by the line of items— clever! Third— LOVE your coloring! Fourth— I LOVE that you say you like those vampire movies/etc! Hilarious! I learn something new everyday;)

Great job this week! LOVE LOVE LOVE it all and YOU!
