This is a super easy card. Simple stamping, a little die cutting, and the perfect pattern paper make for one quick and easy card.

I chose this patterned paper because it reminds me of a dairy cow pattern. I love that it is in shades of blues, it makes the white from the cardstock just pop. I couldn’t decide where to put my sentiment, but in the end, I love the banner treatment. It fits the blue ribbon dairy feel I have going on.

The Steps

Here are the steps to recreate this card:

  1. Start with a standard size A2 card (4.25″ x 5.5″) card covered in pattern paper.
  2. Stamp image onto white cardstock and die cut with scallop rectangle die. Turn the die sideways so the scallop edge only cuts on the top and bottom. Add a bit of shading using an N1 Copic marker. Pop up the panel on the lower third of the card with foam adhesive.
  3. Stamp sentiment on a banner created from white cardstock and create 2 more banners from matching the pattern paper. Stack them together and punch a hole in the top.
  4. Tie string around the top of the card, thread banners through and tie the string in a bow at the top of the banners.
  5. Tack down the bottom banner with a bit of foam adhesive and use a little bit of glue to keep the second banner in place. Leave the sentiment banner free to move.

Let’s step it up just a notch and add some layers. This is still an easy card but just has a little bit more going on.

I love the tags as background pieces layered over each other and then the farm animals are still center stage and popped up in the middle. When mixing patterned paper, it is good to have to subtle patterns with one busy pattern. When you have too many busy patterns the eye has no were to rest and goes crazy trying to look at it all. So just a pop of busy is perfect.

The Steps

Here are the steps to recreate this card:

  1. Start with a standard size A2 card (4.25″ x 5.5″) card covered in pattern paper.
  2. Die cut two large tags from the additional patterns and punch a hole in the top. Glue to the card front and lift edges to create a bit of dimension.
  3. Tie twine around the card and tie into a bow.
  4. Stamp the farm animals and sentiment on white cardstock and die cut out into a rectangular shape. Pop up on the card using foam adhesive.
  5. Add gold Nuvo Drops and let dry completely before handing card.
