Following today’s theme of gratitude, I have a little gift for someone special.  Do you have someone that constantly does little things for you.  Just here or there and always brightens your day.  Nothing grand like a new car but, just a nice comment or a hug when you really needed one and didn’t know it.  Well, this little something is for my person. bread finale…

So here is the deal… I need WAY more practice when it comes to this wild yeast bread making thing!  Ha!  There is some sort of finesse required that I don’t have yet and I assume it comes with experience or so I am hoping. I think the loaves ended up over proofing again.  I did that last time and didn’t seem to really learn my lesson.  But, we left the house again and got side tracked, so instead of baking at 8 am this morning the bread didn’t make it into the oven until 1 pm.   When I …

My First Bread Post

I have two hobbies… scrapbooking and baking. I have been scrapbooking for over 5 years now, but baking with a natural starter has become a new passion. I think it has only been 6 months or so since I started my one and only starter: Harvey. I call my starter Harvey and he has been doing pretty good. I bake bread maybe twice a month, so he stays pretty dormant most of the time in the fridge. I’m still learning how to wake him up and get him going before I need to bake.
