[Tuesday Trigger] a little floral fun

Tuesday Trigger I haven’t been able to participate in a Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger for MONTHS.  I do miss taking them on.  Cath always has the MOST amazing photos to spark inspiration.  I pulled out some Paper Smooches stamps to tackle the trigger this weekend. I loved the flowers and colors in the pretty little teacup.  I also liked the overlapping of flowers in the pattern.  I started out by stamping the vases and overlapping them.  I masked those off and started with the flowers and leaves.  Just stamping and layering in some lovely colors.  Then, I die cut and …

{7.18.2013} unity thursday

Happy Thursday Thursday fun is happening with the Unity design team. If you have been hopping you should have arrived from Joslyn‘s blog, if not, all the action starts on the Unity blog. We start the brand new Unity {be inspired} challenge for this month. Wanna peek??? Of course you do. I am focusing on the colors for today’s card as well as the sketch.   I broke out my watercolor pencils for this one. Can you believe this is the first time I’ve tried the emboss resist technique? It was fun and I’ll definitely have to do this again. …

{7.16.2013} dude

Dude… happy birthday K, seriously, I love the July Simon Says Stamp card kit.  I’m loving all the great colors of card stock and patterned paper.  My FIRST card from this kit was all stamping and this one is mainly paper with a little stamping.  PLUS it is a dude card, cuz I really needed one. I started looking around at some challenges and thought the Cas-ual Fridays Challenge was perfect.  This week’s challenge called for polka dots and this black, white and teal polka dot paper was manly and yet fun.  With that settled, I turned to my Cameo …

{7.15.2013} queen bee

all hail the queen bee Psssst… this week’s Stamp of the Week at Unity is flipping fantastic. I love a good pun and when you add in a vintage image, I’m super happy. Isn’t it cute? I’ve been on a coloring kick. I’ve pretty much used all my different mediums in the last two weeks (copics, colored pencils and watercolors). Today, I pulled out my Prismacolor colored pencils. I colored in around the bees and crown with pencils and then punched the bees out with a label punch. I wanted to stay away from the usual yellow and black and …

{7.2.2013} sparkly birthday

sparkly birthday time Birthday cards are in demand at my house.  I can never keep up.  Whenever I think I’m good for a bit, bam, I’m behind.  So when my new Simon Says Stamp card kit arrived, I broke that baby out in record time. Here is something funny… gold is my least favorite color (next to purple).  I never thought I would use the gold sequins that came in my multi-color pack.  Well, never say never because here they are.  Lol.  And I actually really love them.  You’ll see them again soon.  I can’t seem to put them down …
