orange and blue…

This is for the Card Positioning System challenge #121.  I liked the simplicity of this sketch.  Hero Arts is also challenging the use of complimentary colors this week and I decided to give orange and blue a try.  I love this combo, but I usually use it for boy cards.  I thought I would try and make a more feminine card with the color combo. I used my butterfly punch again and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The embossing powder had a bit of an opaque effect as well which created an interesting result I didn’t expect, but it …

one more time…

Isn’t this a fun sketch!!!  I generally do 4 x 5.5 or square cards, so the rectangular shape of this card got me excited.  Sometimes the results amaze you.  This is the Sweet Sunday Sketch #23. I had a bunch of scraps from my previous attempt at the Color Inspiration #55, so I decided to use them up.  I’m also on a butterfly kick.  I love this punch from EK Success.  I think it is such a great butterfly.  I punched them from patterned paper and then backed them with the rust colored paper to give them a little more …

inspiration

I had a lot of inspiration for this card.  The Hero Arts Blog challenged us to find inspiration from one of the blog-a-day winners and Lucy Abrams inspires me constantly with her cards. I found this card of hers simple and yet so elegant. Along with the Hero Arts challenge this qualifies for the Color Inspiration #55 and Caardvarks challenges.  I found the color combination so awesome, but had a hard time using them.  Caardvarks challenge this month is to create a window card.  The top label frame is popped up like you are looking through a window. The butterfly …

special day

This was a tough card to photograph (if I get some time I want to retake it).  I was having such trouble with light and wind!!!  I take my cards outside since my house is so dark inside.  The wind was horrible and I went running after my card a few times, so I ended up using a clip to keep it in place.  Ha! This is another combined effort card.  I used the Color Inspiration #54, Hero Arts challenged us to use die cuts and Flourishes challenged us to use designer paper (dp). I love my Spellbinders Labels One …
