i {heart} pumpkins

It has been a busy time in our household.  My husband had surgery on his shoulder last Thursday and I don’t think I sat down until I went to work on Monday.  I’ve been his “right hand” and it has wore me out!  But I was still able to complete a couple cards over the weekend and this is one. I found these cute autumn inspired $1 Recollections stamps at Michaels recently.  I don’t have many (if any) autumn themed stamps, so I couldn’t wait to play with them.  The “thinking of you” sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co. I …

a black, white and pink birthday

Oops, I have so many friends and family members with September birthdays, I really should have started making cards sooner. Oh well, guess that just means I’ll just *HAVE* to spend more time in my scrap room.  I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #32 and Caardvarks color combo of black, white and pink for this birthday card. This is a fun sketch from Karen.  I’m going to have to keep this one handy for the future.  I just love the half circle element at the bottom.  It is just perfect for a little sentiment. This is another color combo outside …

summertime birthday

Card Positioning Systems has an awesome sketch this week.  I couldn’t wait to get out my supplies and start to play around with it.  I decided to replace the boxes on the left side with trees.  The cloud background, the middle tree with the bow and the happy birthday banner are all popped up for dimension. I think this card has such a sweet summertime feel.  I have been wanting to use this cloud paper from K & Company for awhile, but just hadn’t quite figured out how.  Two blogs, The Pink Elephant Challenge and Cute Card Thursday, both challenged …

you make me smile

The Hero Arts blog challenge this week is to create any themed card and mail it!  I specifically made this card for my grandma.  She appreciates receiving mail so much I just love sending her little cards occasionally.  It makes me smile every time she calls to thank me for her card.  So, I thought it was fitting to use the “you make me smile” stamp from Hero Arts. Grey is fast becoming one of my favorite neutrals… especially with pink.  I used my Labels Two nestie for the card base and the scalloped oval for my sentiment.  The butterfly …

happy holidays…

Hee hee, it is so funny to say Happy Holidays in August!  Both Caardvarks‘ and Our Creative Corner have a challenge for holiday themed cards.  I just love practicing my holiday cards this early… gets me thinking and I’m already feeling more prepared this year.  I used the color challenge (turquoise, brown and a neutral) from The Pink Elephant Challenge because this is one of my most favorite color combos!!!! I think I may have changed my mind and this might be my holiday card this year!  Or maybe I’ll do a combo of both.  Brown and turquoise are one …
