Hip Hop Hangover

This was my first week to be able to really participate in the Unity’s Hip Hop Thursday and rolling over to hangover Friday.  I was able to create this card before heading into work. This is also a combined challenge card for Cardvaarks sketch challenge and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge to cut out and pop it!  The owl was stamped, colored with Copic markers and then popped with pop-dots.  I also added some liquid glass to the eyes to make them shine a little.  Behind the clear button, I cut a circle from another owl I colored to match. TPE Challenge #20

I’m using up some scraps for The Pink Elephant challange #20 sketch.  This time I put some rhinestones on the butterfly to give it some sparkle and used my swiss dots folder on the Labels One die cut. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Materials Cardstock: Southworth Patterned Paper: My Mind’s Eye Cuttlebug die cut machine: swiss dots folder, Labels One (Spellbinder) Other: Butterfly punch (EK Success), Scrapper’s Floss (Karen Foster) Comments are always welcomed and appreciated.  Thanks for the love!

orange and blue…

This is for the Card Positioning System challenge #121.  I liked the simplicity of this sketch.  Hero Arts is also challenging the use of complimentary colors this week and I decided to give orange and blue a try.  I love this combo, but I usually use it for boy cards.  I thought I would try and make a more feminine card with the color combo. one more time…

Isn’t this a fun sketch!!!  I generally do 4 x 5.5 or square cards, so the rectangular shape of this card got me excited.  Sometimes the results amaze you.  This is the Sweet Sunday Sketch #23. I had a bunch of scraps from my previous attempt at the Color Inspiration #55, so I decided to use them up.  I’m also on a butterfly kick.  I love this punch from EK Success.  I think it is such a great butterfly.  I punched them from patterned paper and then backed them with the rust colored paper to give them a little more …

inspiration

I had a lot of inspiration for this card.  The Hero Arts Blog challenged us to find inspiration from one of the blog-a-day winners and Lucy Abrams inspires me constantly with her cards. I found this card of hers simple and yet so elegant. Along with the Hero Arts challenge this qualifies for the Color Inspiration #55 and Caardvarks challenges.  I found the color combination so awesome, but had a hard time using them.  Caardvarks challenge this month is to create a window card.  The top label frame is popped up like you are looking through a window. The butterfly …
