birthdays, birthdays and more birthdays…

Happy Tuesday!  I’m not sure why September seems to be one of my busiest birthday months, but every April and September I seem to be running behind in card making. This is the other card I made while my husband was recovering from surgery.  It was a secret card in case the intended recipient read my blog.  It is being delivered today, so I feel safe in posting. I am really loving clean and simple cards.  I just love the simplicity and a little surprise element, like the red rhinestones.  The cake and “Birthday Wishes” are embossed in chocolate embossing …

a fall happy everything

Yay, WordPress is back.  I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day weekend! It is amazing how fast a three day weekend goes… whooosh and it is gone! I planned to work on more than one card this weekend (plus many other things), but life had other plans. I finally made myself sit down this afternoon and work on this card for Mojo Monday #103. i {heart} pumpkins

It has been a busy time in our household.  My husband had surgery on his shoulder last Thursday and I don’t think I sat down until I went to work on Monday.  I’ve been his “right hand” and it has wore me out!  But I was still able to complete a couple cards over the weekend and this is one. a black, white and pink birthday

Oops, I have so many friends and family members with September birthdays, I really should have started making cards sooner. Oh well, guess that just means I’ll just *HAVE* to spend more time in my scrap room.  I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #32 and Caardvarks color combo of black, white and pink for this birthday card. This is a fun sketch from Karen.  I’m going to have to keep this one handy for the future.  I just love the half circle element at the bottom.  It is just perfect for a little sentiment. This is another color combo outside …

summertime birthday

Card Positioning Systems has an awesome sketch this week.  I couldn’t wait to get out my supplies and start to play around with it.  I decided to replace the boxes on the left side with trees.  The cloud background, the middle tree with the bow and the happy birthday banner are all popped up for dimension. I think this card has such a sweet summertime feel.  I have been wanting to use this cloud paper from K & Company for awhile, but just hadn’t quite figured out how.  Two blogs, The Pink Elephant Challenge and Cute Card Thursday, both challenged …
