happy holidays…

Hee hee, it is so funny to say Happy Holidays in August!  Both Caardvarks‘ and Our Creative Corner have a challenge for holiday themed cards.  I just love practicing my holiday cards this early… gets me thinking and I’m already feeling more prepared this year.  I used the color challenge (turquoise, brown and a neutral) from The Pink Elephant Challenge because this is one of my most favorite color combos!!!! I think I may have changed my mind and this might be my holiday card this year!  Or maybe I’ll do a combo of both.  Brown and turquoise are one …

sweet sunday sketch #30

This is for the Sweet Sunday Sketch #30.  I really stepped outside my color box and used purple!!!  I don’t usually go for purples and pinks or pastel colors that often, but this butterfly was so pretty I just had to get it.  Now I have to force myself to use more purple, which is kind of fun.  I also am submitting it to the clean and simple challenge at Splitcoast Stampers since I used bling! I have no idea which company made the purple papers.  Isn’t that sad.  This is probably one of the first paper packs I have …

winter time… when it is 110????

I love Caardvarks’ challenge this month and let me tell you, it is a challenge.  We are reaching some high temps right now in Arizona.  We are talking 110, 111, 113 and Caardvarks wants me to think about winter and holiday cards!  But I am so up to the challenge, especially since the sponsor is Hero Arts.  I am falling in love with Hero Arts stamps and desperately need to increase my stash.  I have maybe 4 or 5… this is not enough I tell you and I definitely do not have any of their holiday or winter stamps.  So …

i love saturdays…

I just wait for Saturday all week long.  I had only two plans for today… #1 make a card and #2 start my bread making process.  I am happy to report at 4:40pm today, I finally finished both tasks with a smile. I just love the way this card turned out.  Honestly, when I started, I had no clue what I wanted to do.  I did some blog hopping to find some inspiration and loved the challenges at Mojo Monday and Our Creative Corner. Our Creative Corner’s challenge was based on inspiration from some harvest like images.  My first reaction …

quick and easy…

This is was a very quick card… less than 30 minutes.  Took me longer to photograph and post it then to actually make it. I loved the Sweet Sunday sketch this week.  Something about the circles just said “fun”.  I looked to the  Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge for color inspiration.  This week’s challenge was to go monochromatic with our cards with cream or white cardstock. I have been on a butterfly kick, so pulled out my punches and went to work.  I chose pink as my basic color and cream cardstock.  The scallop circles were ran through my Cuttlebug houndstooth embossing folder.  …
