Sweet Sunday Sketch #20

So, I have been working on finding my mojo.  It is really annoying when you just can’t seem to find the time or the motivation to sit down and create.  Last night I just needed to do something.  So I turned to one of my favorite bloggers, Karen Girdon, for a sketch challenge… Sweet Sunday Sketch #20.  She has some of the greatest sketches and they fit my style so well. So here he is… my little owl is back!  Gotta turn to the old favorites when you wanna get your mojo back.  He is just so darn adorable, how …

Color Inspiration #53

So my first attempt at a challenge this week led me to Kristina’s Color Inspiration #53.  These are really bold colors and make me step outside of my box.  As I tend to do, I went to my stash of patterned paper to see if I could get some sort of direction for this card. Luckily, I found a Die Cuts With a View stack with the red and yellow patterned paper, plus solid blue cardstock to match.  The bird is also cut out from some paper in the same stack.  I used some Sakura Glaze pens to add a …

Oh deers…

A few weeks back, I did a challenge and used the cutest little deer.  Well, he is back with his momma.  I think they are so darn cute I just want to pinch ’em.  Reminds me a little of Bambi. A bird and a tulip

I love to combine challenges and when I can combine two of my favorites, it is so much better.  This is for Kristina’s Color Challenge #52 and the Sweet SundaySketch #18. Again with the mustard yellow… oh so tough for me.  But I had this cute glittered chipboard tulip and figured I had to use it. I started by just trying to find some cardstock in the color pallet.  I found a DCWV mat stack I bought years ago and never used.  Out that came, perfect timing.  I also found some dotted My Mind’s Eye paper that went well.  I …

Hi There!

On the Hero Arts Blog the current challenge is to use dots! I love dots and am really excited to participate in this one. Dots, who doesn’t love dots!!!!  I’m dot crazy right now, especially since I bought my Cuttlebug.  I think my swiss dots folder could eventually be worn out! This was a simple card, but took some time to design.  I used a lot of punches, my swiss dots folder and ink.  Clean and simple yet I think it turned out very pretty. Materials Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper Stamps: Hero Arts (Thinking of You) Ink: Close to my …
