Color Inspiration #53

So my first attempt at a challenge this week led me to Kristina’s Color Inspiration #53.  These are really bold colors and make me step outside of my box.  As I tend to do, I went to my stash of patterned paper to see if I could get some sort of direction for this card. Luckily, I found a Die Cuts With a View stack with the red and yellow patterned paper, plus solid blue cardstock to match.  The bird is also cut out from some paper in the same stack.  I used some Sakura Glaze pens to add a …

Oh deers…

A few weeks back, I did a challenge and used the cutest little deer.  Well, he is back with his momma.  I think they are so darn cute I just want to pinch ’em.  Reminds me a little of Bambi. This is for the CPS sketch challenge #116.  I decided to go very simple with this one and let the deers shine.  I like how the pattern paper doesn’t overwhelm them.  And I found a perfect shade of teal for the butterfly and a matching chipboard bird for the accent.  Most of the supplies came from the Colorbox Friendly Forest …

A bird and a tulip

I love to combine challenges and when I can combine two of my favorites, it is so much better.  This is for Kristina’s Color Challenge #52 and the Sweet SundaySketch #18. On the Hero Arts Blog the current challenge is to use dots! I love dots and am really excited to participate in this one. Dots, who doesn’t love dots!!!!  I’m dot crazy right now, especially since I bought my Cuttlebug.  I think my swiss dots folder could eventually be worn out! This was a simple card, but took some time to design.  I used a lot of punches, my swiss dots folder and ink.  Clean and simple yet I think it turned out very pretty. Materials Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper Stamps: Hero Arts (Thinking of You) Ink: Close to my …

Best day ever!

I just think this card is so cute!  I’ve seen quite a few similar designs and just love the feel of the card.  It seems so happy.  I sneaked in a little birdie and my new obsessions… trees and mushrooms.  I am waiting on a new tree stamp set from Close to my Heart to arrive.  I’m dying  to play with it, but for now, I have to free hand my trees.  But don’t get me wrong, I love my little drawn trees too.  I am loving mushrooms right now!!!!  I don’t have many options for mushrooms in my stash, …
