{12.31.2011} a look back

Happy New Year’s Eve

It is almost time to say hello to 2012.  This last year was filled with some amazing events for me in the card and blog world.  I’d love to share just a few of my big events and favorite cards from the year.  {I apologize if this gets really long!}

THIS is one of my favorites and my first time using watercolor pencils.  This kicked off a LOT of gorgeous Unity releases.  It just reminded me to bring that set back out.  So pretty.

This was the BEST week ever with Emily Leiphart!!!  We each used the same stamp set and created our takes.  Just a little hint, we plan to do it again!  Yay.  It was so much fun.  So watch for more details and dates next year.

Here are just a few of my faves from that week.

{ippity} Cuppy Cakes

My Dear

the best is yet to be

I just had to include cupcake boy.  He is just too darn cute.

This was my FIRST ever Moxie Fab Trigger win!
Seriously, it feels amazing to be Moxie Fab!

This was my FIRST Hero Arts win of the year!  I took a little HA break and when I came back to the challenges it felt like coming home.  I adore Hero Arts!!!  And let me tell you, when that Hero Arts prize package arrives, it is like CHRISTMAS!  Love Hero Arts and plan to play in their challenges even more next year.

This is my proudest, most humbling accomplishment ever.  I was the featured designer in CARDS magazine for the month of October.  I about fell out of my chair when I read the email at work.  LITERALLY!  I was so honored to be asked and when the magazine arrived with my featured cards, I couldn’t have been happier.

Here are some that were in that magazine.

I created this card and bookmark for the Unity/Spellbinder hop.  THIS was my most requested tutorial.  So I made a video for it HERE.

I finally succumbed to temptation and added some Paper Smooches to my stash.  LOVE these adorable stamps and THIS peacock is definitely one of my faves from this year.

And finally, I am going to end with THIS one.  I started using Copic markers and it is a new found LOVE.  Still learning, but this is my most FAVORITE colored image yet.  It also symbolizes my 2012.  I am going to focus on me and find my wings to fly.

If you made it all the way to the end, THANK YOU so much!  Ha.
It was a long look back.

Honestly, none of these cards or accomplishments would mean anything without all of you.  Thank you, my friends, for your constant support and encouragement.  The fact you take time to visit me and to leave me the sweetest comments EVAH means the world to me.  I have been so blessed to find such great friends.  I enjoy visiting all of you as well so if you leave a comment I’ll visit you too.

Should you like to share your year review, Karin has a linky hop going on with lots of participants.  Just love seeing a post full of yummy crafting.

May 2012 be the best year yet for you all!
Happy New Year!

I loved your recap of 2011, Lisa! So many high notes for you–how wonderful!! I had my very first card published in CARDS in the October issue, but I’m still waiting for my copy of it. When it finally arrives (hopefully soon!), I’m going to go STRAIGHT to your Designer of the Month feature. Can’t wait to see it all in glossy print!!!!!

Your cards are beautiful! I love the simplicity of the tree and bird and adore the spotty background you use when photographing your cards. Happy to have discovered your blog.

My big favourite is still that fabulous peacock, if you ever get bored and feel like making another one you know where I am ;o)
