{1.10.2012} sketchy tuesday with angie

Hi Friends.

I have an extra special post to share today.  My dear friend Angie Blom is one amazingly talented lady.  She scrapbooks, creates cards, jewelry, embellishes clothing, paints AND draws!!!  She inspires me constantly and I can’t wait to share with you her latest endeavor.

Sketch Art Tuesdays

Every Tuesday Angie will share a piece of her art on her blog.  And because she designs stamps too, she is sharing some of her latest stamp design.  I am so excited she asked me to join in and create with her stamp for today.

I started out with this card.  Digital stamps are so versatile.  I resized the tulips smaller and then used some digital papers and elements to fill in and to decorate the background.  Those tulips are so cute in patterned papers.

This card wasn’t planned.  When I printed the tulips for the first card, I added a second image as a back-up incase something when wrong with the first.  I just happened to lay it on top of this card and thought, wow, that is kinda cool.  I sized the tulips to fill most of the card background in black and white.

Then I popped up the colored tulips and created a little label for the wishes saying.  Something about the contrast of the bright patterned paper and the BW background just really made it pop.  Love this kind of discovery.

This was my initial design for the large tulip… to keep it pure for a little Copics coloring.  Angie’s beautiful tulips needed nothing else.  This couldn’t be any more clean and simple.  I masked off the stamp design and then used some Shimmerz spray ink over the top.

Please visit my dear friend Angie Blom’s blog to see what she is up to with her creations today.  She also has this digi stamp available for free.  We would really LOVE to see what you create with this sweet tulip image.
