{3.15.2012} LUCKY for YOU hip hop

Unity has a BIG sale!

And you are the LUCKY one!!!  Lots of great stamp sets on sale though the weekend.
Like the ONE I used here.

Welcome to this week’s Hip Hop with the Unity design team.  If you didn’t start at the beginning of the hop, make sure you head over to the Unity blog for the start.

Not only do we have a big sale, but on the 15th of every month we have a new CHALLENGE.

The theme this month is to create a project with some sort of door, opening or flap.  Um, I might have stopped at reading the rules at DOOR!  Ha.  My first thought was a screen door and I ran with it. But I think it is suppose to open.

I created the frame with grey cardstock, stamped some velum with an AMAZING Christy Tomlinson distressed grid stamp and popped it up on the card.  I’m quite impress with my screen door effect.  I don’t normally tackle cards like this.

The butterflies, door handle and sentiment are all from the Coconut Lime Soup set.  For the door knob, I created a twine knot a la Emily.

That is all from me, head on over to the amazing Natalie next!!!!

I’m laughing about you reading the rules 🙂 I love the second card…wow…such a fabulous, fabulous design. Love the layout and pops of color against the gray.

LOL, glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t always read the directions thoroughly 🙂
I love the screen door effect – and love it when butterflies & dragonflies perch on mine. June bugs, not so much 😉 And the ‘put your big girl boots on’ – love that set!

Hey, if it wasn’t spelled out that the door is supposed to open, I say you’re just fine. 😛 Both these cards are awesome as always, of course! That may be my favourite use of Brave Girl Boots ever!

Love those butterflies at your screen door… mine has midges and mosquitos and bitey things on the other side… I’d probably leave it open if it were butterflies! FAB card Lisa!
