[6.25.2015] Unity Thursday

Happy Thursday

Time for some more THURSDAY fun with the Unity design team.  If you haven’t been hopping along, all the action starts on the Unity blog.  There’s always fun stuff going on.

There are bunches of pretty new releases today, you MUST check out the website to see all of them.  I’m using two of my new releases from this month full of cuteness.

let’s flamingle

Flamingos… there is just something about these goofy pink birds that make me smile. I’m going to save this one for one of my littles.  I have 4 little girls between nieces and friend’s kids who would LOVE this one.  Especially since they all live in Florida.  I’ve combined some digital paper with Copic coloring and a little glitter pen (of course).

bringing booty back

dahlhouse designs | 6.2015 shake it shake it

This little chickie can shake it, shake it.  I used some Distress Mini Inks to watercolor him and the background.  Super quick and easy.  I’m finding I have more control over shading with watercolor.  It is quite forgiving.  Just let it dry and layer for darker shadows and if you do something not quite right, just wipe it away with paper towel real quick while it is wet.

This cutie could be combined with a ton of sentiments released already.  Especially many of the monthly sentiment kits.

I have a quickie video to show how to use rubber cement as a masking fluid.  If you find the glue is staying too sticky, just dab it with some baby powder and proceed.

I would never have thought of using rubber cement as a masking agent … and you make watercoloring look SO easy with your fab tutorial … I might have to get out my watercolors and give them another try … thanks so much for sharing with us.

Very cute cards! I love the flamingo, too. And yes, we have lots of them here in FL. They are so elegant. I live near “Flamingo Gardens” and visit them every once in awhile.
