[9.28.17] Unity Thursday

Unity Thursday

Time for some more THURSDAY fun with the Unity design team.  If you haven’t been hopping along, all the action starts on the Unity blog.  There’s always fun stuff going on.

Did you see this month’s new sentiment kit? I really love the beautiful fall floral bouquet. I have a couple of projects to share with you. If you hurry, you can still get this kit for only $16 until the end of the month.

Abundant Blessings

A beautiful card idea to pop up the center of an image to create a big impact. Use die cuts and beautiful stamps like this one from Unity Stamp Company to create a lovely layered image card.

Up first… this lovely watercolor card. With a little masking, some simple watercolor and one easy die cut, this card was created. I started by stamping 3 flowers, one in the top right, middle left and bottom right. Then, masked those off and stamped around the rest of the card. After I watercolored the image, I die cut the center, matted it with the brown cardstock and popped up the middle panel. It really is a simple card with a big effect.

Curious to see how I made this card. I have a quick video that you can watch it here or at Youtube.

Sharing a card idea for an elegant, simple card using gold foiling PLUS a quick video and tutorial on how to create this technique.

Next, I have this lovely shiny card. Foiling is amazing stuff. It really takes your stamped image to the next level. Jennifer McQuire is the technique queen, so after watching the many methods of foiling she has tried, I decided that using a laser printer and a laminator is the best method for me. After foiling, I just popped up my image and sentiment over some lovely matching foiled paper.

Really pretty cards. I like how you cut out the middle of the yellow flower card and popped it up. Love that technique, but haven’t know how to do it. Thanks!
Never have tried foiling before. Gorgeous technique.
