Happy Saturday!

I’m sharing this pretty little card using the brand new Unity Stamp Company sentiment kit for August 2019. Lots of Copic coloring going on and I’ll share my techniques on how I color skin & hair.

I’ve created a quick video tutorial on how this card was made. You can watch it below or on YouTube.

I’ve been coloring with Copic markers for easily 5+ years. I can’t remember the first time I purchased a marker. But once I started using them, I never looked back. They really are the top of the line for markers. I’ve tried others, but really, nothing compares. If you are serious about using markers as a coloring medium, I highly suggest using Copics and Copics only. Yes, they are expensive. But if you slowly build up your collection, I know in the end you’ll be much happier than trying to color with other products. I only use 3 colors per family. So I really only use about 30 markers, over and over again.

Please watch my video above. It goes through my entire process of coloring this girl and the color combos I use. I am not an expert. I’ve never taken a class or been Copic Certified. This is just the technique I’ve developed over the years of practice and watching Youtube videos. It’s not perfect, it’s just mine. I hope it inspires you and helps you develop yours as well.

I love this brand new sentiment kit as well. There was a request for a sentiment kit that focused on those who struggle with substance recovery and suicide prevention. Gosh, my heart just breaks to think of how many tackle life with these added struggles. I have nothing but empathy and love to share. I’m always afraid I’ll not find the words worthy of such emotions and turmoil. How can I find the perfect words for such a struggle? I can’t really. But I can share the feelings I want to express and just HOPE they help someone through their journey. So I hope you love them too and that they help someone you love.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by today’s project. If you create something, I’d love to see. Join us in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group to share your card and tag me.
