{5.21.2012} cupcakes

Seriously?
Have you seen this cupcake?
Yummers.
It is the new Stamp of the Week from Unity.

I had to bring out my Copics for this one.  It took me a long time to color in this delicious cupcake, but it was sure fun.  The inspiration for the splatter came from the Spatter Technique Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  The use of the acetate was actually a fix to cover up an oops.  Heehee.  Originally, I dripped some Shimmerz Vibez directly onto the cardstock.  Um, it is way to wet to do that, plus really sheer.  Great, now what to do?  I decided to cut out the center of the card and replace it with a piece of acetate spattered with the Vibez white.  Ahhh, much better.  There are some little rhinestones in the spatter to help it sparkle a little more.

{5.20.2012} hey sugar

Hey Sugar

Happy Sunday to you all.  The blog has been a bit quiet.  Lots of activities in the last month have delayed my creative process.  Some good things, some not so good and other are just normal everyday chores.  Ha.  With summer coming I have a feeling the little blog will be quite more and more.  It is play time outside the craft room.  But no worries, my dear design teams will keep me busy and I’m sure I’ll be able to squeeze a challenge in here and there.

Like I did for today and the next couple of weeks will be jam packed with posts.

Paper Smooches‘ new SPARKS challenge for this week is a sketch.

Super fun.
I pulled out all my PS stamps to find what I wanted.
I saw this little yummy gum drop and an idea was born.

I ended up with a sweet little mini card.  Something to tuck into a little gift or bag.  It started out as a full sized card, but the long strings of gum drops just seemed lost, so I trimmed it down and adore this little mini so much more.  You can’t have a gum drop with out a little sugar sparkle.  Each one has a little sparkly glitter glue.

And since the sketch was so CAS friendly, I’m linking up to the Simon Says Stamp challenge as well.

{5.18.2012} stripes

Friends with Flair

Hello my wonderful Friends with Flair, I’m sharing my card for the brand new Unity Challenge that started on the 15th!

This month’s challenge is to use STRIPES in your project.  You can use ANY Unity stamps for this challenge (but only Unity) and you can combine with other challenge.

Our littlest niece is turning TWO!  She is so darling, I just wish she lived closer so we could watch her grow up.  I’m using some fun, girlie, party papers and stamps for her card.

My stripes are a little subtle.  Can you believe I had a hard time finding stamps with stripes?  I blame it on the quantity of stamps I own.  There are just too many to go through.  Ha.  So I reached for what just arrived and used Game Day Chili and everyday, EVERYWHERE.  Game Day Chili had some cute striped stars just perfect for this challenge.  They mixed in with the patterned paper perfectly.  And then my tag is punched from striped paper as well.

I had to laugh, when I handed my card over for inspection to the hubs, he read it as, Happy birthday TWO?  Hmmmmm.  I said, no, Happy SECOND birthday.  So, in order to get my thought across I had to add the little no. before the 2.  After a second inspection, he said, don’t you have a numbers sign?  ARGH.  No, I don’t.  I could not find a # sign anywhere!  I very well might have one, but seriously couldn’t find it.  I ended up stealing a saying from another set that included the word ‘note’ and masked off the ‘te’.  I don’t know if it really passed the final inspection, but it will do.  Ha.

Check out all the deets and to play along HERE!
Thanks for stopping by and remember to head back to the Unity blog to visit the rest of the Friends with Flair.

{5.13.2012} Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day

I sure hope you have a wonderful day if you are a mother.  You really deserve to be pampered and spoiled.  I envy those who take the job on, but I hear it is quite worth the effort.  May you be celebrated today.

We are are having lunch at my mother’s.  She LOVES a local chinese place and has requested a feast.  Easy enough, so we are happy to oblige and partake.  Ha ha.

I’m up on the ATS blog today sharing this card.

This sweet little Swiss Pixie Party Time Lucy is so darn adorable!  I’ve had her for a little bit and it was about time I colored her up.  I sure hish I had time to learn from some tutorials or classes.  I hope I’m slowly advancing with each attempt.  I’m pretty sure she is full of imperfections, but I adore her and LOVE how she turned out.

I’m using lots of goodies from the All that Scraps store.
