Unity Friends with Flair - Unity Stamp Company

{8.26.2011} happy Friday

It’s Friday… Friday, Friday.

Happy day my Friends with Flair Unity peeps.

So excited to share some new Unity stamps with you.  I was inspired by the Embellish Magazine embossed flowers color challenge and I am going to let you in on a secret.  This card is SOOOOOO different from my original plan.  Ha.  I started out with the ‘home is where‘ stamp set.  I was just going to put in the corner, use the embossed flower and add the popped up heart too.  NOPE.  Didn’t happen.  Instead, I got this….

I wish I could show you how pitiful it started out.  Ha.  I just couldn’t do it.  So, off in a new direction and I started to add one thing and then layer another and then add some more.  NOT my usual method.  But once I stamped that ‘life is so good‘ itty bitty onto the tag things just started to take on a life on its own.  I colored with a blending pen, I stamped over it with ‘giving it all meaning‘ and finally topped it off with that embossed paper flower embellishment I made.  Whew.  Then I moved on to finish the card and I just kept adding something here, something there.  I ended up using part of my original card too.  It was total craziness but I adore the finished product.  Especially since I was just going to pitch everything in the beginning.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to head back to the Unity blog to visit the rest of the Friends with Flair.

  3. This is SUPER gorgeous! I LOVE all your stamping and the flower–and your colors! OH MY! I loooooove this–totally knocked me out of my seat! LOVE:)

  4. Well, this turned absolutely beautiful, even though it took a different course than you originally planned! I love the embossed flower and the pretty color combo!!!!

  5. Gorgeous, Lisa! so glad you persevered and ended up with this beauty! And topped off with a perfectly tied bow and everything.

  7. This is just gorgeous! I really love how you layered everything onto the embossed background to coordinate with your flower and the beautiful stamping and colour of your main tag piece.

  8. I adore it, too! I liked reading about your “do-over”….I have a lot of do-overs. LOL! The colors are beautiful! Such a stunning card, Lisa!

  9. Have to say – not your usual card. Much busier and more layers. Where does this creativity come from? The bow says it all and the words ‘life is so good’ because it is. Life is good and your cards say it – show it – and mean it. good job!!!

  10. This is beautiful, Lisa! I love all the textures, layers (papers and stamps) and colours. Wonderfully done!! I’ve missed seeing Giving It All Meaning. Was actually thinking about it the other day! LOL

  11. Your card is so beautiful but when you posted the title.. that song just shattered my mind like a bad case of the runs :). – sorry – Your work is phenonemal and I love the balance of the neutral colors against the pop of fusia. Amazing card and I love your blog!

  12. NO THANKS for the earworm :/ Ugh. I guess what does it say that it’s stuck in everyone’s head 😛
That aside, I love your card – the embossing & the subtle colours really popped out at me 🙂
