My Bloggie BFFs
Happy day my dear friends.
I consider all of you my BFFs.
And yes, I can have more than one in Blogland.
We are special like that.
I have a card for you and the current Hero Arts March 2012 challenge.
Using lots of flowers.
I did some things I haven’t done in quite a while. All those flowers are embossed. The ones on the background are heat embossed in white and the popped up one is stamped in grey ink and then embossed in clear. Don’t have the right color of embossing powder? Just use your favorite ink and then emboss in clear. Looks great every time.
And, this is one TALL card.
I think it is 8 x 4, but I can’t remember exactly. Oh wait, yes I do. It is 8.5 by 4.25… I used a standard sheet of cardstock to make it. Simply trimmed it down to 8.5 x 8.5 square and then folded in half. Turns into one BIG card for me but will still fit in a business envelope.
I love all the colors too. Anything with blue/green and grey has my fancy right now. Plus, that flower turned out super pretty too. I stamped and embossed 3 flowers, used some Copic markers to color them and then trimmed and layered it all together.
This weekend was a bit of a bust card wise. I tried really hard to create something for the new Paper Crafts call but my mojo didn’t want to wake up. I was struggling something fierce and honestly… they are not my best creations. I’ve had to redo one of them 3 times and it is still not really working right. Ugh. But I gave it a shot and if they don’t get picked up, I guess you won’t have to wait 6 months to see them. Ha.

Tough to create sometimes when it feels like the pressure’s on 🙁 I hear ya. I hope we DO have to wait six months, though 🙂
I love all the fancy embossing – I keep reaching for the white EP lately – and of course the trick to use clear! Use that all the time 🙂

super pretty!

Good luck with your submissions! They would be crazy not to accept your cards! This card has such a beautiful design. I love the long lean look with the embossed white flowers!

This is gorgeous, Lisa! I love the design and you really rocked that stamp set. I haven’t seen anyone use it as beautifully as this. Best of luck with the call! 🙂
Lindsey
What a beautiful combination of colours and images! And embossing, I love embossing! I’m sure PC mag will have a much higher opinion of what you submitted than you do right now. 😉
Emily Niehaus
Your embossed flowers are just beautiful, Lisa. 🙂

GORGEOUS card, Lisa!! I like making long, lean ones like that, too. It’s fun to have a different shape in the arsenal!!
I hear ya on the PC call. My mojo packed and left recently, too. I hope yours comes zooming back soon!!

Wauw, the flower is so pretty!! Very nice card! Yep, I know the problem about no mojo at times when you needed it… But it always comes back luckily!!

I’ve been struggling with that call too. 🙁 So frustrating!

More gorgeous DP Lisa! You really know how to make it shine! Good luck with the mojo… mine’s hibernating whilst I’m working nights (I do miss it too)!
ps. LOVE that flower!

Love your big card with all the pretty embossed flowers. They always make stamping so fun!
It’s always just a little bit more fun to receive a big card and doesn’t really cost that much more to mail…especially if it’s for someone really special. I usually think they are worth it!!! 🙂
