{4.25.2012} hero arts fun

Hello friends.

I had a little bit of time this weekend to actually play in the Hero Arts challenge.  I’m really squeezing them in under the wire!  The deadline is TOMORROW.  Eeek.

Up first, I’m using one of the sketches to create this missing you, love  you or sympathy card.

I really loved the four panel sketch with the circle.   The background was created  with the envelope pattern stamp.  I masked off each section and varied the blue from lightest at the bottom to the darkest at the top.  For the 3rd row, I stamped the houses in grey.  I decided to use the popped up heart as the circle element.  I have used this technique before with this row of houses.  I just love the way the heart spotlights the one little house.

I decided to keep it quite simple and let the stamping be the star.

I was able to complete one more this weekend as well for the shaped card category.  There is something really fun about shaped cards.  They really add something a bit extra for very minimal effort.  The base was cut with my Cameo and the birds as well.  The center panel was stamped in Versamark with the zig zag background.  At the last minute it turned into an anniversary card.  Those little birds just seemed to be in love.

Thanks for stopping by today.
