{8.25.2012} with sympathy
This little birdie flew into my home this month. Isn’t he sweet. I love the sketched look and yet he is quite simple and elegant at the same time. His first job is a sympathy card and he did it well.
I chose to go with a very soft and serene color palette: cream, creamy brown and robin’s egg. The sketch for this second round of the Hero Arts August 2012 challenge was the perfect inspiration for this sympathy card.
I started out by stamping the bird and sentiment and then masked them off before stamping the lattice background. It creates a fabulous illusion of depths while still being a one layer card. To finish off this clean and simple card, I added a few pearls.
This would be a great card for mass production. You could change the sentiment and colors to create a great gift set.

Perfect sympathy card for sure. And you’re right about the ease of mass production on this one – it would make a great gift set! Love it!

CAS is the way to go for sympathy cards for me — and this is perfect.

Perfect colours – and how can that bird manage to look either fun or soothing? Crazy. I love how you did the sentiment & vertical panel, and I definitely love that bg!
