{6.16.2013} wanna sketch no. 6
Yay… we are on Wanna Sketch no. 6.
Holy hannah, did you take a peek at all the lovely creations linked up to Wanna Sketch #5??? They are all so amazing and each one makes me smile. Thank you to those who play along. I’m tickled pink each time someone links up. So let’s get to some highlights.
Lisa is one of my sweetest friends, we’ve been on the same design team for years and she constantly delights me with her creations. I selected this one for a couple reasons. First, she followed the sketch literally, but made it so special by stamping her square background. I also love how she added the button to tie the two feathers together. Just a lovely card all around.
I love how happy the colors and the patterns are in Chris’ card. Plus the added chevron to the background is a fun yet subtle touch. Ok, and maybe she had me at the beer. ha.
Pure happiness. I love Savannah’s take with the fun patterned and sweet little birdie and flower. Adorbs!
Thank you all again for playing along. It is such a treat for me to see what you all come up with. Ready for the next one???
I decided to move the sentiment down from where it was indicated in the sketch. It just didn’t work like I intended. I was going to put a little banner over the butterfly, but it covered up the pretty flowers. So I moved it down to the corner. I stamped the flowers on the wood veneer butterfly and popped it up against the background. I love how it looks like it is floating in field of sorts. I’m thinking this would be lovely for a sympathy card with a change of sentiment of course.
Wanna Sketch #6 will be open until July 20th, 11:59 pm. There are no rule restrictions, just use the sketch how it inspires you from one layer to a hundred. I would love it if you shared the sketch and linked back here too. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with.

So does the sketch usually come first, or the card? Or do you do it either way? I love the pop of bright colour on the butterfly – and that fabulous background stamp!

Both. 🙂 Depending on time, I’ll create a card and then a sketch or do the sketch first. In this case, the sketch was first and my card deviated a bit from the sketch. It is how I work, I can never follow a sketch exactly. See, I don’t even follow my own rules very well. Ha. 🙂
