Beautiful Life, Blessed Memories

I’m inking up the new sentiment kit for this month’s {Be Inspired} challenge.  There are a variety of different sentiments to choose from.  Many can be used for the front or inside of cards depending on what you’d like to say.

I started out with embossing the heart and sentiment on vellum.  I tried out tons of different patterned paper to put underneath.  So many were too bold or busy and made it hard to see the sentiment.  So, I used some watercolor to create the blue-green background paper.  Much softer.  I was too impatient to let the watercolor paper dry completely so I sewed the vellum on.  It puckered in an interesting way and I kinda love it.  It is puffy and crinkly in a cool soft way.  I think I’m going to play around with this idea again and create a set in different colors with different sentiments in the set.

  1. What a lovely card!!! How interesting to stumble on something so pretty as sewing the vellum on the damp watercolor paper. I can’t really see the puckering in the photo, but I love the soft look of this very beautiful and heartfelt card.

  3. This is my first time looking at your guys blogs and I love them! Super cute card you made and I love how simply it looks. Also appreciate how you list the supplies you used with pictures so I know in the future when I want to try something similar C:

  4. I like how you came to the decision to use the watercolors. What an exceptionally beautiful card. I am going to try using my watercolors more…you inspired me!

  5. I love that the card is done in subtle blue/green shades instead of black. There’re so many sentiments that could be used especially with V-day around the corner, but I like that the heart is for the memory of a loved one.

  6. A beautiful card. You really did justice to this stamp. I saw it and thought that it was a bit too busy. I was so wrong. Now I wish I had it. TFS
