[3.15.2015] paper smooches sparks
Check it out… anything goes this week in the SPARKS challenge from Paper Smooches.
Sometimes the simplest cards are the prettiest. I started out with the watercolored background using Distress Inks and let it dry completely. While it dried, I die cut the “thanks” three times out of white cardstock and then once from gold cardstock. Then, I stacked and glued them together. I hit my watercolored piece with some heat to make sure it was completely dry and then white embossed the sentiment. Stray embossing powder will stick to any bit of moisture, so I wanted to be sure it was completely dry. Then, I just assembled everything together. I love this layout, it would be fabulous for a gift set and easy to mass produce.
I’m going to tell you a secret, I do not like yellow gold. I’m a silver and white gold person. I’ve avoided the whole gold craze in card making for the longest time and then March happened and I caved. Ha. I admit it, gold is soooo pretty and I’m using it on everything. So be warned, you’ll be seeing a lot of gold happening.
Link up your project at the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog by Saturday, 11:59pm PST.
