[5.10.2015] paper smooches sparks
Let’s get this SPARKS party started.
Here we go… the brand new SPARKS challenge from Paper Smooches has begun. Let’s take a peek at the photo inspiration.
There are LOTS of things to be inspired by in this fun little photo. The flowers, wood table and teacup (or maybe it is a bowl, not sure now, but I thought it was a teacup) popped out at me right away. You’ll see all of these elements in my card today.
Do you ever fall in love with a card when you are done? Well, I did with this one. That little teacup did it. I used the cup from Hot Concoctions and dressed it up with the lovely bloom from Blossoming Buds. Darling right? Then, I added those blooms and a glittery butterfly. Just a sweet little trio. My darling grandmother just celebrated her birthday at the end of April. This card, that I love, went to her, whom I love.
I have also fallen in love with a new watercolor medium… spray inks. How the heck did I not know about this?!? All this watercolor smooshing going around gave me the idea. Hey silly girl, why don’t you just add water and it is instant watercolor. So vibrant and fun. So, I tried it out with one of my Color Shine spray inks. Extra bonus, these spray inks have sparkle built-in. I’m pleased to report, it worked swimmingly. I can’t wait to play around some more.
Link up your project at the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog by Saturday, 11:59pm PST.
