Sharing Some Guy Cards | Unity Stamp Company

Hello Friends…

I’m back again using some Unity Stamp Company sentiment kits for some fabulous GUY CARDS. It’s that time… Father’s Day is coming soon. I’m getting ready for Father’s Day and some birthdays using a brand new stamp by Unity Stamp Company.

The Project

The Details

Not only am I getting ready for Father’s Day, but I have birthdays galore coming up too!!! So I needed a stash of guy cards and the brand new Best Tool in the Box stamp set was perfect timing. The tools are all cut separate, so it makes it super easy to line them up or to create a background.

For this card, I stamped the tools all lined up in a row. Then I used Distress Markers to color them in. I stamped on regular 80 lb cardstock, so I kept the water to a minimum. I only used a few colors, so it was quick to color these images in.

I used the same paper pad for all three cards. Grabbed some scraps and started cutting away. I have two strips of patterned paper to match the green behind the images and then found this amazing ruler paper to trim down and accent the images.

I stamped the birthday sentiment from So Glad You Were Born and popped that up in the upper corner and then tied a bit of string to finish it all off. I find with guy cards, I like to keep everything as simple as possible.

For the second card, I created a background using all the tools. I practiced beforehand so I knew the placement of each tool would look balanced. Then die cut out a center panel using a stitched die.

I colored it in the same method with Distress markers.

Using the same patterned paper, I grabbed a few more scraps and tore the ends of the strips to create a rugged banner. I layered them up and then used a tiny stapler to add two staples for a bit of an accent. Then punched two small holes and tied a bit of string in a knot. Again, keeping things simple, but adding just a little accent for interest.

Last I stamped the Father’s Day sentiment from the Lil Peeps Grab Bag.

Since I knew the layout worked, I stamped it again one more time. And also die cut it out with the same die. Easy peasy. Then I colored it with the same Distress markers. This time, I added a bit of a blue shadow around the tools. My husband like the shadow, I preferred it without it. Haha. Either way, I love how this tool background turned out.

This time I needed another birthday card, so I used the same birthday stamp from before.

More scraps from my paper pad. I have a long rectangular piece, then a smaller piece layered on top. To add a bit of interest, I tied a bit of string around the middle. Finally, I trimmed a piece of paper that looks like a ruler again and used that to create a tab behind the stamped panel. What a fun little surprise.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by today’s project. If you create something, I’d love to see. Join us in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group to share your card and tag me.

I always need more guy cards and tools are perfect for most of them (except my husband who prefers to remain tool-less).

Your comments really make my day, thank you!
