Distressed Background with Foil | Unity Stamp Co Toner Card Fronts
Hello, Butterflies…
I’m still playing with the brand new Unity Stamp Company toner card fronts. They are perfect for easy cards. Today, I’m playing with blending on some color and foiling. I love that these toner images are printed on cardstock. You can do so much with them to make your cards sparkle and shine.

Assemble This! Video
I’ve created a quick video tutorial on how this card was made.
The Project
The Details
Lots of layers upon layer of color, shine and dimension going on in this card.
I started out by building up the color with Distress Inks for the background. The colors I wanted to focus on that were similar to a monarch butterfly and then to create a contrast in the background by adding a hint of blue/green. That just helps those foiled butterflies pop against the background.
Check out the video for the step-by-step low down. I’ll walk you through my process. It is super easy, just takes a bit of time and the proper layering of supplies.
Thanks for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by today’s project. If you create something, I’d love to see it. Join us in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group to share your card and tag me.

I really love your card! Quick question: could you do the foiling first and then the ink blending? Would it resist the ink?
Lisa Arana
Hello! I did foiling second and it worked out just fine. I have since learned doing this could interfere with the foil adhering so ink blending second might get better results. Thanks for stopping by and for the great question!
