Blooming Blessings Card Set

Say hello to the first Unity Stamp Company sentiment kit of 2022… Blooming Blessings. We are starting off the year with a gorgeous floral bouquet and some loving sentiments to use throughout the year. I pulled out my Copic alcohol markers for some coloring and added a bit of foil shine for this set of cards.

Card no. 1

The Details

This floral bouquet is so beautiful and unique. I especially love the addition of the lily which you do not see often in floral stamps. I’m not sure which particular variety this one is, but in my search for inspiration, it looks similar to the Tiger or Oriental Lily. I thought I’d stick with some warm rich color and pulled out my Copic alcohol markers to color in the image.

I am not an expert colorist. Per my usual strategy, I stuck with just a few colors per family and did my best to add a bit of shading and variance in color. If you are interested in the Copic colors I used, I’ll list them below:

leaves: G12, G28, YG17, YG63, YG67
lilies: Y11, Y15, Y21, YR16
mum: R20, R22, R24, R29
globe amaranth: R81, R85, R89
shading: 0, W1

Card no. 2

The Details

Did you notice the hint of foil in the background of these cards? After many months of trying to ignore the hot foil trend, I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered the Spellbinder Glimmer System. I have a Big Shot die cutting machine and this is the hot foil system compatible with my setup. I’m thrilled with the results. I’ve been using it for both hot foil and toner foiling and the results are just stunning. The foil adheres beautifully and doesn’t flake off as it did with my laminator method.

I love this hint of shine and patterned the lines and dots created behind this beautiful bouquet image. Just the perfect touch.
