An EASY Way to Create a Galaxy Background

Galaxy Background Birthday Card

Galaxy backgrounds are still pretty trendy. I’ve seen so many different ways to create them and I love them all. Today, I’m sharing my way using some spray inks. I find it pretty darn easy. Plus, I am so excited about this new Falling Star background die by Unity Stamp Company. It is just the perfect die to accent a starry sky.

The Card

The Details

I’m loving the rich blues and purples for this night sky. I used three colors of spray inks (linked below) and a spray bottle filled with water. The video below shows my progress as I sprayed the watercolor with water and the different spray inks. I dried the paper in between layers to create a gorgeous layering of galaxy colors. To add to the galaxy look, I splattered on white ink and silvery watercolor paint.

Once the background was completely dry, I die-cut it with this amazing Falling Star Background. It cut like butter. Then I glued it over a silver foil cardstock so my stars would be shiny. I love this look for a birthday card so added the perfect birthday sentiment from Many More Birthdays.
