2 Cards 1 Simple Layout
It’s an amazing day…
Happy Saturday! It is a new month and time for a lovely new Unity Stamp Company February 2022 sentiment kit. I have a delightfully simple card design to share with you. I love this one. So easy to use over and over again. It is just perfect to feature the gorgeous floral mailbox image from the brand new Sending a Happy Hello stamp set. I’m assembling this card set and sharing how I like to pick out patterned paper to match my colored images.

Card No. 1
The Details
I’m loving this mailbox amongst the flowers. As the years go by more and more people are not sending mail or cards anymore. I feel like the mailbox has lost its charm and love. Not for me. I still love to go to the mailbox every day to see what might be inside. And I love how a card or a note can make somebody’s day when they peek inside their mailbox for a little card surprise.
This simple card layout is a go-to for me, I use it over and over again. The brand new Scallops & Rectangles die set inspired this design. It has the perfect-sized scallops to mat the smaller rectangle and both sport a sweet and subtle stitched border. It makes my heart so happy every time I use them on a card.
For the first card, I went with a teal mailbox. I love teal. I couldn’t help but start there. I colored these images while I was watching TV. Something I really love to do. It is so relaxing and fun. Then I picked out a soft grey striped pattern paper for a soft background. I love the little peek of pattern behind the white layers to add just a little something extra to the design.
Card No. 2
The Details
I went bolder this time and pulled out the reds for this mailbox. I always find it funny how a color choice can completely change a card. Teal verses red? Which one do you prefer?
While it is easy to see the difference in the color of the mailbox, I also changed up the color of the flower centers. Just for fun and something else to change between the two cards. Not only that, but I changed the orientation of the card to a landscape position. This is not something I normally do. Why? I have no clue. My brain always seems to be drawn to a portrait card, so it was fun to change up the second card’s layout.
For this one, I liked the look of the red and pink striped paper. It just really popped with that red mailbox. Check out the video below to see these cards come together. If you are interested in the Copic colors I used, I’ll list them below:
Teal mailbox: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
Red mailbox: R02, R05, R08, R24
Flowers: Y11, Y21, Y18, YR16
