Delicate Flowers for an Easy Card…

I’m feeling delicate today. Unity Stamp Company released a beautiful new floral background stamp and I just had to ink it up for a birthday card.

I enjoy the light airy feel of this background. You can make the color between the floral branches anything you’d like. I thought about blue, and green and eventually settled on grey. I like the softness of the grey background. Now I have no idea what these flowers are. Are they branches of a tree or a bush? I’m horrible at recognizing flowers. So I figured if I don’t really know then it could be either.

I liked the idea of green stems and pink blooms against that soft grey background. I kept it simple with basic coloring. No blending is required and you can be a bit messy for a faux watercolor look. I just used two tones of pink and green and layered the darker color over the lighter one here and there.

List of Copic colors: R20, R22, YG13, YG17, and N1.

I used my favorite dies to mat the floral panel and popped it up on some pink gingham patterned paper that matched. After hemming and hawing about my sentiment, I reached for my favorite Many More Birthdays stamp set with a matching die and stamped that in Moonlit Fog and Peach Bellini. To finish everything off, I added a few sequins and sparkly bits.
