How to: Foiling Cards Without a Laminator – It’s so EASY!
I can not get enough of these new Adhesive Transfer designs by Unity Stamp Company. I have a fun way to feature these beautiful designs with simple ink blending and stenciling. Foiling can be tricky and a bit finicky when it requires heat, but these NO HEAT transfers make foiling so darn easy. I’m always amazed at how well it works every single time!

Easy Foiling Birthday Cards
The Details
What do you think of this simple design to feature the amazing foiled transfers? I liked the idea to keep the background simple but for the colors to accent the foil. To achieve the look, I decided on some simple ink blending and stenciled stars.
Distress inks: Saltwater Taffy, Worn Lipstick, Salvaged Patina, and Evergreen Bough
For my best foiling results, I like to use Hammermill 110 lb cardstock. I save this brand just for foiling. I do get great results with Neenah 80 lb cardstock also but prefer Hammermill since I have it. If you notice your transfers are a big jagged, try adding more pressure with a cardstock shim or a different cardstock with a smoother surface.
Design Tip: Break up the pink with a bit of gold. I almost went all monochromatic pink but I the gold foiled flower and sequins help to keep your eye interested. It isn’t so overwhelming with one color.
Bonus Tip: Make two cards at once. You have your supplies out so why not make another card? To keep it interesting, just change up the colors, flower design, or sentiment for a completely different look.
