2 Ways to Color on Kraft Cardstock
Hello crafty friends! I’m excited to share 2 different ways to color on kraft cardstock with you today. I love the warmth of kraft cardstock and it works so well with different coloring mediums. Yesterday, I watercolored with Distress Oxides and today I’m using Prismacolor pencils and Copic markers. The brand new Unity Stamp Company Winnie the Pooh stamp sets were the perfect images to play with.

Coloring with Prismacolor Pencils
The Details
I honestly do not use my colored pencils enough. I’m on a mission to try various coloring mediums to see how they look on kraft cardstock. After trying Distress Oxide inks, I remembered my pencils sitting lonely in the corner of my room. I may be a bit rusty but I sure love how delightful the coloring turned out.
Pooh and his pumpkins from Fallish Days were so easy to color with just a few colors and a little Gamsol to blend out the colors. I used warm gray for the shadows and white for some highlights to give a bit of depth to my simple coloring. To finish everything off, I just tore up some layers and added a sweet little bow.
List of Colors: light aqua, aquamarine, spanish orange, yellowed orange, goldenrod, white and warm gray 70%

Coloring with Markers
The Details
Feel the Merry called for the Copic markers. I embraced the warm tone of the kraft as my highlight color and really kept the coloring simple without much blending. Instead, I mainly used just two tones of each color. Using the slightly darker color as the shadow and keeping the two layers of ink for a storybook look.
Once I was done coloring, I masked off the image and then stamped A Little Christmas Carol over the top with Versamark ink.
