Brand New Unity Kit of the Month | All the Wishes

Today’s card is all about this beautiful hot air balloon from the April 2023 Unity Stamp Company Kit of the Month. Do you make cards without sentiments? I’m going rogue today and giving that a go.

The Details

I’m going with my clean and simple roots today. This hot air balloon was begging to be colored up with some Copics and I couldn’t say no. I didn’t have a plan so I picked some colors that made me happy. We have quite a few hot air balloons that take flight near us and one of them is blue & yellow. It is a very happy combo so I went with that. I’ll list my Copic colors in case you were curious.

Copic Colors
Balloon: BG01, BG05, BG07; Y00, Y02, Y11, Y21
Leaves & Flowers: YG13, YG17; Y18
Shadow & Highlight: N1, white paint pen

Once I was done coloring, I thought, “Now what do I do with it?” That balloon is so dang pretty that I decided to go with a clean and simple layout. I grabbed my scissors and fussy cut it out. Found some washi tape that coordinated with the balloon colors and laid a few strips down. Popped that balloon up with foam adhesive and added a few gold sequins for some movement and shine.

Once I was done, I couldn’t decide on what sentiment I wanted or where to put it. I don’t have any blank notecards in my stash and I thought this would make for one amazing just because card. And I’m pretty dang happy about that. I rarely leave a card front blank but I am diggin’ the idea.
