A Colorful Fluttering Butterflies Card with a Mixed Media Vibe

It is all about colorful fluttering butterflies today and getting that mixed media look with just ink, water, and simple coloring. I’m so inspired by the newest arrivals at Unity Stamp Company. I just had to get inky with these butterflies!

I’m in love with the new Paper Wishes stamp set by Unity Stamp Company. Each butterfly is beautifully hand drawn with such amazing details. All they need is a little color to make them soar. I’m playing with a favorite Distress Ink technique to create that faux watercolor background and to color the butterflies too.

Check out the video to see the ink smooching in action with my tips on how to make it super simple to do. This is the first of 3 lovely color combos all using the same techniques.

Copic colors: R83, R85
Distress Ink colors: Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry

This time I switched up the colors for a bold red and orange combo.

Copic colors: R01, YR02, R22, R24
Distress Ink colors: Ripe Persimmon, Candied Apple

And finally, we have a lovely combo of blue and green.

Copic colors: BG11, BG34, BG05, BG07
Distress Ink: Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers
