Let’s Mix Things Up with a Different Style
Magic is something you make, don’t you think?
When it comes to card making, do you have a particular style? Some people prefer clean and simple designs with minimal layers, while others may enjoy die cutting with lots of layers or stamping and coloring with watercolor techniques. With so many styles to choose from, it can be overwhelming.
For me, I like to experiment with different styles and somehow it always feels like me. Even if my style can’t be defined I love to be inspired to try all the things. Which is perfect, because Unity Stamp Company is known to have a little something for everyone.
Mixed media and junk journaling are becoming popular again. With THIS beautiful new stamp set release, I’m revisiting a style of crafting I haven’t done in years. It is magical and fun to try something different.

The Card
It has been a moment since I stamped with a mixed media style stamp. These can easily be used for any style but I tend to allow the stamps to lead me in a direction. I decided to mix mediums and go a bit grungy with this one.
Background: The background has a mix of ink smooshing, stamping, die cutting, and ink blending. Then to up the magic, I used some Duo Gel, a stencil, and Deco Foil for those amazing stars.
Elements: Next are all the goodies. Some twine with a tiny star stamped tag. More stamping and ink blending on that floral image and sentiment. I gave them some texture with a slight crumple and distressing with my scissors around the edge. Last, to lighten everything up a smidge, I splattered some white paint over it all and called it done.
I don’t have a video for this creation. I had a few mishaps with my equipment. Blah. Is mercury in retrograde or something? Lol. Let me know below if this is something you’d be interested in seeing for a future video below.
Thank you for joining me today. I sincerely hope that today’s projects will inspire you. If you end up creating something, feel free to tag me, @dahlhousedesigns, on social media as I would be thrilled to see it!
