I’m having some inky fun with today’s card! Mixed media doesn’t have to be complicated—you can create so much with just a few simple supplies. For this card, I made a winter background perfect for this hilarious little guy from Unity Stamp Company. Add a wobble, and you’ve got a card that captures the feeling of being so over winter or annoying life stuff that always costs a lot of money! Anyone else have their fridge, washer, and TV all die this year? Lol. Time to get inky! Check out the video to see all the techniques in action!

As Bad as it Gets!

This card combines some of my favorite techniques into one playful design. The background layers rich blues with watercolor, ink blending, and sparkly stenciled snowflakes using Astro Paste—it’s wintery magic! The star of the show is, of course, the quirky chicken, colored with Distress Watercolor Pencils. I popped it on a wobbler so it could shake and wiggle, adding even more fun to the relatable sentiment.

Creative Tips & Techniques

• Mixed Media Layers: I love how the water-reactive ink can be used for an ombre watercolor background and ink blending with a stencil.
• Stencil with Astro Paste: A little sparkle goes a long way to make your design pop!
• Work in Layers: Let each step dry before moving to the next for crisp, clean results.
• Keep Coloring Loose: The chicken looks great with a relaxed, watercolor style—don’t stress over perfection.
• Action Wobble Fun: The wiggling chicken makes me laugh every time—it’s the perfect touch for this frazzled chickie!
