I’m all about mixed media today! It’s been a while, so I thought I’d grab some of my favorite Unity Stamp Company stamps and pattern paper and just play. No plan… just layering, stamping, and seeing where creativity took me. I kept it simple with easy techniques and a handful of supplies, making this perfect even if you’re new to mixed media. Layered Beauty

Each card is packed with texture, color, and dimension. The backgrounds include torn pieces of pattern paper layered over a stamped base. The florals are softly watercolored, allowing the details to peek through while blending into the background seamlessly. Then, I added ink blending, extra stamping, and stenciling with Lunar Paste to bring in that dreamy texture and shine.

My mom gave me some ancient typewriter paper, and I had to see how it would look on a card. I love how it adds this perfectly worn-in, vintage feel to the design. The delicate texture worked so well with the soft watercolor florals and all the layered details. If you don’t have typewriter paper, no worries. Try using thin watercolor paper, trace paper, rice paper, or even tissue paper. It’ll give a slightly different look when layered, but I think it could be really cool too!

The Ink & Bloom: Camellia stamp set includes two beautifully versatile sentiments—one perfect for celebrating mothers and another for offering sympathy or heartfelt support. This makes it a great set for creating meaningful cards for a variety of occasions.

I love the subtle shimmer from the Lunar Paste. The light really catches it in photos, but in person, it’s a soft, transparent glow that adds just the right touch of interest. I thought it would be a fun contrast against all the warm, neutral tones—and let’s be honest, I can never resist a little shine!

• Add a Focal Point: Choose a strong image, like these florals, to ground your design and bring everything into focus.
• No Plan? No Problem! Let your supplies and instincts guide you. Mixed media is all about experimenting.
• Use Stamps for Texture: Try layering different background stamps in different colors for added depth.
• Tear Your Papers: Rough edges create a natural, organic look perfect for collage.
• Blend and Distress: Ink blending and distressed edges ties everything together for a cohesive vintage finish.
