One of my favorite things to do is layer patterned paper in different die-cut shapes and this card is packed with them. The Pup-Pup paper pack has the perfect mix of plaid, chevron, and neutral textures that work so well together. The postage stamp edges add a playful touch, while the stitched circle keeps the design feeling polished.

The adorable bulldog is colored simply with grey Copic markers. I’ve always wanted a gray bulldog—maybe one day I’ll have one! Until then, I’ll settle for creating with this sweet pup instead.

I love how the little heart tag with the paw print and twine bow finishes everything off. It adds just the right amount of cuteness and texture while cleverly covering the hole at the top of the tag. A small but perfect detail!

Creative Tips & Techniques:

• Use a Limited Color Palette: Keeping the colors minimal lets the patterns and textures stand out.
• Layer Die Cuts for Interest: Combine different die cut shapes to frame the main image.
• Balance Bold & Soft Patterns: Mixing plaids with subtle neutrals keeps the design cohesive. Hide busier patterns in the back so it doesn’t overwhelm the eye.
• Pop in a Small Accent: The small heart and paw with a bow adds some sweetness and texture.
