Beach, please!

I started by stamping the kitty on white cardstock, then built the scene using the splotch stencil for the pool. I masked off the water so I could go bold with that summery pink sky and stamped rays of sunshine over the top. A quick fussy cut of the colored kitty adds dimension and hides the inky layers from the background work.

Copic Colors Used:
Kitty: N1, N3, W1
Flamingo Float: RV23, RV25, RV29
Beak: Y13, Y18

Creative Tips & Techniques

• Hide the Mess: Stamp and blend right over your base kitty. Your fussy cut one covers all that mess.
• Clean Masking: Use masking paper to keep your pool shape crisp as you blend around it. Don’t have masking paper? Use copy paper and repositionable tape instead.
• Smooth Stamping: Use a blending brush directly on your Here Comes the Sun stamp to soften and even out the ink before stamping. Repeat stamp as many times as you’d like to increase coverage.
• Fussy Cut with Intention: Cut close along the line at the bottom of the kitty to match the pool ripples, but leave a white border around the top for contrast against the background.
