{7.1.2013} wanna sketch reminder
Have you tried out this sketch yet? Don’t be afraid, you can do it. I’m loving all the entries so far. The creative mind is so awesome. I love how these sketches send you all off in different directions. Here is a reminder of the current sketch.
That wood panel could be anything… a stamp, patterned paper, a Cameo/Cricut cutout… the sky is the limit. And then you could literally make a banner or have your sentiment just go across the center. You could pop it up or use a different stamp to mimic that center element. Lots of fun options.
Here’s my take for today.
First, I love this one. Mainly because my masking turned out pretty nice. Yay me. Second, I don’t love the way the Stardust pen turned out in the photo. It is much softer in real life. But I won’t let that get me down, I still LOVE this card.
I started out by stamping the sentiment and then layered a mask over the top. I mask by stamping on thin copy paper, trim out and then use removable adhesive to the back. Next came the stamping of the butterfly. I added the butterfly mask next, leaving the sentiment mask still on too. Last came the worn hearts background. It is so fun to remove all the mask to see how everything turned out. Luckily, it all worked out on my first try. Yay.
My card critic (aka husband) was not a fan of this one. Of course he couldn’t elaborate more to help me understand why. Oh well. I don’t care, I love it.
I’m going to link this up to the Simon Says Stamp challenge: anything goes. My favorite kind of challenge. Heehee.

I think it’s really pretty, totally loving the hearts background…. initially I was going to use ‘tiny hearts’ for mine but changed my mind (great minds).

This is such a soft and pretty sympathy card, Lisa. Maybe the husb doesn’t like the soft and pretty part. 😉

BEAUTIFUL colours together – so soft & lovely for a sympathy card! And hubby can go sit in the toilet with the dog, lol!
I actually couldn’t get this sketch ‘out’ the first time – I made another card with it today, just waiting for it to dry. *hurry up*
