Embossing Folder Rub
The Details
I’m an old school techniques kind of gal. This is one of the first techniques I learned, gosh, close to 20 years ago! With embossing folders making a trendy comeback, I love to make those patterns pop with a surprising tool – fine sandpaper. Check out the video to see it in action.
I combined the beautiful Eternal Midnight Weave pattern paper with a gorgeous jewel toned purple. The flowers were stamped and colored using Copics, and I paired them with a delightful thank you sentiment.
Copic colors: C0, C1, C2, C4; V000, V12, V15, V17
Technique Tip: Be gentle. Don’t rub too hard, just a light rub is all you need. Or go crazy if you want an extremely distressed look. Both would look fabulous depending on the style of your project.
Stamped & Paintbrush Splatters
The Details
This card is popping with stamped grunge and some more of those lovely patterned papers. I paired a beautiful damask stamp with a bold Thank You sentiment. The results are pretty magical. Simple stamping and ink splatters are old school techniques.
Technique Tip: Check out the video for how easy it is to mix both stamped and paintbrush splatters for a fun look.
Thank you for joining me today. I sincerely hope that today’s projects will inspire you. If you end up creating something, feel free to tag me, @dahlhousedesigns, on social media as I would be thrilled to see it!
