I’m sharing a quick and elegant holiday card using two tones of heat embossing with the Simply Holiday stamp set from Unity Stamp Company. This design has that soft, peaceful feel I love… clean lines, simple layers, and just enough texture to let the stamps shine. Season’s Greetings

This card comes together with just a few thoughtful layers. I heat embossed the background trees with clear powder so they quietly blend into the kraft cardstock, then added the focal tree in crisp white to bring it forward. The light pink layer is ink blended with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide since I couldn’t find the perfect pink cardstock in my stash. Such an easy way to get that perfect color to match your ink. Then I added a few white and gold paint splatters for that snowy feel. I tied up some soft chiffon ribbon with a bit of burlap string for a sweet little bow secured with glue dots.

Creative Tips & Techniques

• Use Antistatic Powder: A quick swipe over your cardstock helps prevent stray embossing powder from sticking where you don’t want it.
• Heat Between Layers: If you’re embossing with two colors, heat set each one before stamping the next to keep them crisp and separate.
• Clear Powder for Subtle Texture: Embossing the background trees with clear powder allows them to peek through without taking over.
• Blend Your Own Cardstock: Don’t have the right color? Make it. Spun Sugar over white cardstock gave me just the right soft pink.
• Add a Handmade Bow: Layer a wide ribbon with a bit of string to create soft contrast and interest.
• Stick to Neutrals: Let the texture and embossing do the heavy lifting while keeping colors minimal.
