No Coloring, Plenty of Color

I love how much this card gets from one simple ink blended panel. The skunk stays black and white, but that pink, purple, and aqua background brings all the color and keeps everything feeling bright and playful. It is such an easy way to make simple stamping feel colorful without coloring a single thing.
Gina K Ink Colors: Bubblegum, Light Orchid, Sea Glass

I’m a big fan of splatters, so I’ve included some white ones to give it a bit of movement and brighten things up. I put the panel inside a clean white frame, and then I popped up the cute, fussy cut skunk on top. I also die cut the bottom of the skunk to match the frame, which really gives everything a nice, finished look. This is one of my favorite new dies. It’s so cute and playful, but it can also be clean and elegant.

The cloud embossed background is subtle, but it makes a big difference. It gives the card front a soft little something without competing with the colorful center. The whole design stays clean and easy, but that texture, splatter, and popped-up cutie make it feel extra special.
Tips for Better Ink Blending
Start Light and Build Slowly: Ink blending behaves better when you sneak up on the color. Start with a soft hand, then add more ink in layers so the blend feels smooth instead of patchy.
Overlap the Colors: Let each color blend slightly into the next. That little overlap is what gives the background a softer transition and keeps the three colors from looking like separate stripes.
Let One Color Lead: Pick one color to be the main character and let the others support it. On this card, the bright pink gives the blend its playful pop while the purple and aqua soften everything around it.
Add Splatters After Blending: White splatters are a fun way to break up the background and add movement. Keep them light so they add texture without stealing the show.
Use Simple Stamping on Top: A colorful ink blended background is perfect for black and white stamping. The image stays crisp, the color still shines, and you get a finished card without pulling out your coloring supplies.
I love a card that looks colorful but keeps the stamping nice and simple. Try this no coloring card idea the next time you want a quick design with a big pop of color. Blend a few favorite inks and let your stamped image shine.
